The best, funniest Ben interview I’ve ever read, and of course it’s Caitlin Moran.
I think it makes a difference when the person interviewing is famous in their own right—and brings that confidence into the interview.
I dunno but this kind of just made my day
The best thing about this is their eyes:
John’s eyes are warm and sunny.
Mycroft’s eyes are a bit dead, and rid of emotion.
Sherlock’s eyes are smirky, like he’s planning your humiliating demise.
Armin Meiwes is famous for the 2001 killing and consumption of voluntary victim Bernd Jürgen Brandes. The two discovered each other online when Brandes responded to Meiwes’ advertisement on a website called The Cannibal Café, in which he requested “a well-built 18- to 30-year-old to be slaughtered and then consumed”.
Before the murder, the two of them attempted — at Brandes’ request — to eat his penis. Meiwes tried unsuccessfully to bite it off with his mouth, though he was able to burst both of the testicles. Ultimately, they amputated it with a knife. Unable to consume the penis raw — it was too “chewy”, Brandes felt — they sautéed it in a pan with salt, pepper, wine, and garlic. It was still inedible. Finally, after attempting to fry it with some of Brandes’ own body fat, it was deemed too burned to consume and was promptly chopped into pieces and fed to Meiwes’ dog.
From there, Brandes lay bleeding in a bath tub for three hours while Meiwes read a Star Trek novel. He was given alcohol, pain killers, and sleeping pills to make the wait easier. Eventually, Meiwes assisted Brandes into the “Slaughter Room” he had built in his home. He then stabbed Brandes in the throat and suspended his newly lifeless body on a meat hook where he began to tear chunks of flesh from it. He even tried to grind down Brandes’ bones to use as flour. Meiwes ate his consensual victim over the course of the next ten months, hiding body parts in a freezer beneath a stack of old pizza boxes. By the time of his incarceration in 2002, he had consumed nearly 44lbs of the body.
Sentenced to life in prison, Armin Meiwes has since become a vegetarian.
